Black Minds & Bold Designs

Reclaiming the Archive: Black Women in Graphic Design is a curriculum-based project that challenges the dominance of Western, white, male narratives in design history. By centering Black women graphic designers whose work has been overlooked or erased, the project highlights design as a tool for cultural expression, protest, and storytelling. Through historical and contemporary case studies, it invites viewers to question who is remembered in design history and how inclusive narratives can shape the future of the field.
